The Wave

The Wave is an inland surf destination where everyone can surf on consistent, safe waves all year round – just a 10 minute drive away! They are the first inland surfing venue in the northern hemisphere to use Wavegarden Cove technology providing over 1,000 waves an hour.


With a 180m-long surfing lake, The Wave delivers an unrivalled inland surf experience suitable for everyone from beginner to seasoned professional. They’ve designed every aspect to ensure it is fun for all, whatever your ability. At The Wave no-one is judged – except on competition days!


Aerospace Bristol

Clifton Suspension Bridge

Our famous Clifton suspension bridge, created by Brunel himself, offers jaw-dropping views across Bristol. A walk along the bridge is a must, to truly take in the enormity of it. 15 minutes away.


SS Great Britain

Another of Brunel’s creations, the SS Great Britain, was called ‘the greatest experiment since the Creation’ when she was launched in 1843. Step onto the ship itself, alive with sights, sounds and even smells. Prepare to set sail on the most extraordinary time machine. 20 minutes away.


Shopping

On our doorstep is large shopping centre, The Mall at Cribbs Causeway, where you’ll find high street shops surrounded by larger out of town stores. 5 minutes away.


If independent shopping is more your thing you’ll love Clifton village and Park Street (20 minute drive) where there are plenty of smaller, independent and interesting shops run by friendly folk of Bristol. 15 minutes away.

Universities Nearby

Families of university students in Bristol often stay at Berwick Lodge whilst visiting the city, due to our close proximity to two of the best universities in the UK.


One of the UK’s most popular and successful universities, University of Bristol, is just 5 miles from the hotel.


UWE Bristol (University West of England) is a thriving, modern university also just 5 miles from the hotel.

Food

The main reason for guests visiting Berwick is because of our fantastic food. However, we know that sometimes you want to eat out. The closest eateries are at a leisure complex at Cribbs Causeway where you’ll find the usual chain restaurants. For more interesting and independent restaurants, head to Clifton or Gloucester Road.


Pampering

Our in-room massage therapist can be booked in advance, for relaxing treatments in the comfort of your bedroom.

The Coast

If you just want to be by the water, Portishead has a pretty marina just 18 minutes away and Clevedon has a pier and promenade just 22 minutes away.

Woolacombe and Croyde beaches in Devon are 110 miles away, an easy route along the M5 and A361.


Golf

Bristol Golf Club is 6 minutes away.
