Pamphylia (Pam-phil-ia)
was a region in the south of Anatolia. The name Pamphylia comes from the Greek language and translates literally as ‘of mingled tribes or races’. The Pamphylians were a mixture of aboriginal inhabitants, immigrant Cilicians and Greeks.
