Christopher Wicks, Director of Food and Executive Chef

Chris is recognised as one of Bristol's finest and most respected chefs. He is also Chef-Proprietor at Bell's Diner in Montpelier which has an outstanding reputation.

Ed’s talent was spotted straight from college when he joined the Michelin starred ‘Read’s Restaurant’ in Faversham, Kent, where he spent two years developing his culinary skills.

To broaden his food experiences, Ed then travelled to Australia and New Zealand - spending a year in each, working in selected fine dining venues. On returning to the UK, Ed worked in the restaurant at the Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath before joining Chris Wicks at ‘Bell’s Diner’ in Bristol.

Ed joined Berwick Lodge’s team when it opened in 2009.  As Head Chef, Ed is enjoying creating menus with an exciting modern take on classic European cuisine and indulging his passion for using the finest locally sourced ingredients.
